Terms of Service

Effective date: June 21, 2026

Welcome to Gabe ("we", "our", "the service", "the app"). By creating an account or using findgabe.app, the Gabe iOS app, or the Gabe Android app, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

1. Who Can Use Gabe

You must be at least 18 years old to register. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. We may suspend or close accounts that do not meet this requirement.

You must provide accurate registration information (name, username, email or phone, date of birth). Impersonating another person, using fake identities, or creating multiple accounts to manipulate the platform is prohibited.

2. Your Account

3. What Gabe Is

Gabe is a social network where every post is judged by the community through voting. Each post receives a Truth Score based on votes from other users (πŸ˜‡ truth, πŸ™ probably true, πŸŒ— partial, 🀷 don't know, πŸ€₯ probably false, 😈 false, πŸ˜„ funny). Your own score reflects how the community perceives the truthfulness of what you share.

Truth Scores represent collective opinions, not verified facts. Gabe does not employ fact-checkers and does not certify any post as objectively true or false. A high Truth Score means the community voted that way β€” nothing more, nothing less.

4. Your Content

You own your content. By posting, you grant Gabe a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, distribute, and adapt your content as needed to operate the service (including showing it in feeds, search results, and aggregated metrics like teasers and trending lists).

You can delete your content at any time. Deletion removes it from public view; backups may persist for a short period for operational reasons.

5. Community Standards

Gabe moderates through exposure, not censorship. We do not delete posts merely because they are controversial, contrarian, or critical of public figures, governments, religions, or ideas. The community decides what is true through voting.

The following content is absolutely prohibited and will be removed:

The following is permitted, even if controversial or unpopular:

If the community judges such posts as false, your Truth Score will reflect that. That is the system working as intended.

5.1 What Gabe Will Not Mediate

Gabe is a community-judgment platform. The vote IS the answer to most complaints. We will not act on, investigate, respond to, or remove content based on requests such as:

By creating an account and posting on Gabe, you accept these outcomes as a fundamental and intentional part of the product. The platform exists specifically to surface them publicly. Refusing to accept this is not legal grounds for action against Gabe or its operator.

5.2 Disclaimer of Editorial Control and Hosting Service Status

Gabe operates as a hosting service under EU Digital Services Act Article 6 (hosting service liability exemption) and as a passive intermediary for user-generated content. We do not employ moderators reviewing posts before publication, and we do not exercise editorial control over what users say.

In particular:

If a specific post genuinely violates applicable Danish or EU law, your legal recourse is against the user who posted it. Gabe will of course act on a valid court order or formal notice from a competent authority β€” but we will not act on personal complaints alone.

5.3 The Council β€” Community Mediation

The Council is a community court within Gabe. It is not a Gabe service in the legal sense β€” Gabe does not appoint Council members, does not select cases, does not control verdicts, and does not endorse outcomes. The Council is composed of users who have reached Neutral Verified status through their own behavior on the platform.

Council members vote on cases sent to them automatically when a post becomes controversial (close vote split with enough verdicts) or when an author voluntarily submits their own post for review. The majority verdict (truth / partial / lie / unclear) becomes part of the public record on the post.

Important legal framing:

The Council activates only when there is a quorum of Neutral Verified members on the platform. Until then, it sleeps. You can check its current state and your own eligibility at /council.html.

6. Anti-Harassment

Gabe detects patterns of repeated negative voting or commenting targeted at the same person. If you accumulate five or more such events against a single user within seven days, an obsession flag is automatically displayed on your profile (visible to all). This is exposure, not censorship β€” the community sees the behavior.

Repeated harassment, threats, or attempts to intimidate any individual will result in account suspension or termination, beyond the automatic obsession flag.

7. Anonymity

You may post anonymously. Anonymous posts do not affect your score until you choose to reveal a specific post. At reveal, the community's verdict applies retroactively to your score. Anonymity is not a shield for content that violates these Terms β€” moderators can still act on illegal or prohibited content even when posted anonymously.

8. Voting

Each user is limited to 100 votes per 24 hours to prevent brigading. Votes that consistently disagree with the eventual community verdict will negatively affect your own Truth Score (the system rewards being right, not just voting).

9. Neutrality and Reputation

The most respected status on Gabe is Neutral Verified β€” a balanced score earned through at least 50 verified interactions. Reaching and maintaining this status is intentionally difficult. Gabe celebrates users who think critically and judge fairly, regardless of which side of any argument they take.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts for:

Termination results in removal of access. Public content already posted may remain visible to preserve the integrity of community discussions, with identifying information removed.

11. Neutrality Points (NTRL)

By participating, you accumulate Neutrality β€” an internal scoring metric tracked on your profile. Neutrality is earned through community-validated behavior (consistent neutral status, correct voting, successful mediation, etc.).

Neutrality is currently a non-monetary, non-transferable metric inside Gabe. We may, at our discretion, in the future convert accumulated Neutrality into transferable digital tokens or other forms of value when legal and operational conditions allow. No promise of monetary value is made. No expectation of conversion should be assumed.

12. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that:

You access user-generated content at your own risk. Gabe is a platform; we do not author user content and do not endorse any specific opinion expressed by users.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gabe shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the last 12 months (which may be zero for free accounts).

14. Intellectual Property

The Gabe name, logo, design, code, and brand are owned by the operator of the service. You may not copy, modify, or use them without permission, except for normal sharing of posts via the share features inside the app.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark. Any disputes shall be resolved through the courts of Denmark, unless a different jurisdiction is required by applicable consumer protection law.

17. Contact

For questions about these Terms, account issues, or to report a violation, contact us at gabe@findgabe.app or via the in-app reporting tools.
